North Yarmouth Historical Society Facts

Founded:
The North Yarmouth Historical Society was incorporated in 1973.

Facilities:
The North Yarmouth Historical Society shares the Walnut Hill Station with the town's fire and police departments. The Society had a large vault installed in the building in which to monitor their archival records and collections.

In 1976 the Old Town House was slated for destruction as it was in barely stable condition. The Historical Society moved to save it, however, and bought the building from the town from the price of $1.00. It was then restored and now houses North Yarmouth Historical Society functions.
